Rotten Avocado by KawaiiCulture Rotten Avocado by KawaiiCulture
Here is my entry for the #Little-Dreamers monthly challenge (to make rotten miniatures). There's nothing worse than counting on that last avocado and then having to throw it away because you waited too long to eat it! XD

●5/8" tall
●Fimo and Sculpey clay
●acrylic paint

You can find my pretty avocados here-->

Nice work.

Actually, I just wouldn't eat it. The last time I ate something with avocado I got a huge stomach ache and my ribs hurt like hell for hours, I even had difficulties even for breathing.
Allergy is a monster...

Wow, you actually made rotten avocados! lol! I went crazy and bought too many avocados when they were on sale. They started to look just like this when I cut them open. *sigh* :saddummy:

Slightly weird that I'm praising rotten fruit, but this is great! To be honest, it still looks pretty good to me! But then I eat the weirdest things... I ate a chocolate left over from last Halloween yesterday. The details are great and I love the picture of them with the rubbish.
I have one question though. I notice you use sculpey, but do you use sculpey, or sculpey 3? Just I can only seem to find sculpey 3 around and I was wondering if they actually sell regular sculpey.

Hahaha, you are funny! Well you're not the first to think it still looks OK but my reference for this apparently smelled worse than it looked! XD Oh and you are right about the Sculpey it is actually SculpeyIII. I'm a little set in my ways with clay and I always buy the same things so I don't have a lot of knowledge about the different kinds. I've also been using a lot of craftsmart clays (usually next to SculpeyIII but half the price) and I think they are really awesome!

Yummy!..kinda..

The seed is very well done, the brown run lines through the flesh look great as well. Yet, I think the avocado still looks good enough to use in cooking...but then I try not to waste food. XD

If I can critique a bit...

A rotten avocado often starts with slate purple-grey or brown-grey spots on the inside of the skin, and later reaching the flesh. Sometimes hollow gaps or 'ravines' appear in the flesh with a bit of light grey fuzz in-between. Super bumpy, soft and wrinkly skin is also a bad sign. At that state, I'd never recommend eating them.

Aside from a slight color adjustment, the only thing I'd say that could be improved upon would be to make the skin bumps smaller and bumpier, if possible.

Again, that seed is absolutely perfect and shiny. Just lovely. I would pull that sucker out and plant it in a heartbeat!...of course it wouldn't grow, being made of clay. :D

Hey there! Thank you for your interest in my work! I enjoyed and appreciate your critique! Well the reference avocado certainly smelled rotten (it actually smelled like a stinky onion)! My boyfriend said the same thing- that it didn't look rotten enough. I totally agree about the bumps being too big on the skin too. I will take it all into consideration! Thank you! :)

Thank you! :) I made the little bag after a failed attempt to make a polymer clay plate for them. I actually think this turned out to be more appropriate! I just cut it out of a big bag and taped the seams.
